Deepinder Goyal

Deepinder Goyal, the Founder and CEO of Zomato, is at the helm of the renowned company. Before establishing Zomato, Deepinder's professional journey involved a stint as a management consultant with Bain and Company in New Delhi. During his tenure at Bain, the idea of an online restaurant information platform was conceived by Deepinder as he observed the demand for menu cards among his colleagues. In 2008, he took the bold step of leaving his role at Bain to initiate Zomato (initially known as foodiebay), which he started from his apartment. Since then, he has led the company's strategic direction and product development. Deepinder holds a degree in Mathematics and Computing from IIT Delhi, graduating in 2005, and originates from Muktsar in Punjab.
